Tournament of Warriors (Bps)

1-Each ward dressing up their bishop and presenting him in some creative  skit like way.

each bishop represents a scriptural warrior and comes dressed in a manner that represents that particular person/prophet. He describes that person ), 100 points- then speaks (briefly) about what this warrior did that applies to the young women today---he can use his own armor as "props" to describe things. He could be his own visual aid. These wonderful men have so much experience, love, concern, and wisdom, that I think it would be a powerful "fireside" to listen to them talk about how to be a warrior--a strong female warrior--in today's age.

Life lines …1-use a camper friend to help you do it~

(AKA ….Reality Show check!)

Prize… THE MIRROR BALL Trophy

Each ward will dress up their Bishop for the contest.

YW and ward leaders will bring them their Warrior outfit to be judged!

 

Each Bp-Warrior and President Stedman will choose out of a hat their impartial judge #1-9      and get that many points                                    

Use stake presidency and others that can addJ

 

THEN... Let the games begin.

 

Top Model

 YOUR judge will give points for Bishops costume                                                

20 pts head gear

50 pts –outfit

50 pts- modeling abilities!

50 points for modesty

 

Singing Bee

Each Bp is given a random Childrens  Hymn to sing from memory,( Luck of the draw) 

All Bps will sing together diff songs at the same time.                                         

Judge will give points for each word sung correctly. Judge can underline right words sung then count them up for points

Songs we may use:    ( Once there was a snow man, in the leafy tree top, little purple pansies, Im all made of hinges, hello hello, daddy’s homecoming, the golden plates, I hope they call me on a mission)

Survivor

Jump Rope

Each bp will jump rope for 30 secs and get a point for each successful jump

 

Man vs Food

Ice cream sandwich eating race. …  10 pts for each one eaten in 1 min

we adapted this with hot dogs..

100 pts or partial points, for each hot dog eaten by the time the first bp finished his 3rd dog... Bonus 100 points for girl from his ward if she eats a full hotdog with bun!

 

Redneck Island

Log throw-  Bp gets points for each foot  or inch the log is thrown…OR horse shoe?

Wipe out

A fair game of musical chairs 40 pts to winner, and 35 to 7^th place, 30 to 6^th, etc

Ping pong ball game. Points for balls caught in fanny pack.

  Mental game of facts.  Look at plate of things and get 10 points for each item you remember?

Shoot arrow and get the bulls eye for points..

and had them throw a pretend foam

 

 arrow and gave them points for if they his a arm, hear or heart

 

Good Morning Bishop,

Your camp director attended a Girls Camp planning meeting last Thursday.

She will be asking for the Bishops ( or the counselor you send to camp) to Dress up as a scriptural warrior at camp ( the girls will help you take care of the costume).

They would like you to come to the "tournament of warriors" on Friday ( stating at 2pm) dressed in manner that represents that particular person/prophet and describe that person- then speak (briefly) about what this warrior did that applies to the young women today----prior to the tournament

Remember our camp theme is BRAVE - Be Righteous And Virtuous Everyday

They would like every Bishop to represent a different warrior and they have asked that we turn in our "warrior" ASAP .

think about it and get back to your camp director so they can turn your warrior in and hopefully get your first choice!

-You will welcome the levels as they arrive on Tuesday (unless you are helping wards drive up)

-Skits- by levels – prepared at camp

-Certification- by levels at camp level leaders keep level girls together Camp directors will run certification

-Round Robin…Archery, Rifles, etc- by levels

-Hikes- by levels Brenda and Randy Weed will give us the plans

-Testimony Mtg – run by levels

-Extra Crafts- by levels

-FHE get aquatinted game by levels

 

Camp Leader and Priesthood Expectations at camp

-Provide transportation to and from camp for 1-3 yr girls

-Certification station – work with your jr staff girls to teach your assigned station

-Rotate with your assigned level on round robin (unless you are personally assigned a post)

-Hike with your certification level, Attend testimony meeting and FHE in assigned level.

-Work with skits in assigned level AND sleep with your assigned level in A frames

 2 leaders to each a frame with 6-8 girls

=1^st yr- PB, FV, (AV also 4^th yr helper) 

=2^nd yr PV, HT (RM- also 4^th yr helper)

=3^rd yr CR, NP

= 4^th yr  AV and RM

-help with and Attend FHE get aquatinted game … work with your level leader above
